Hi, I’m Laurie. I am a self-taught watercolor artist and photographer who also dabbles with acrylics, colored pencils, and, well, just about any type of media I can get my hands on. I love to mix mediums to get the best colors and details. Adding colored pencil and ink details to my watercolor creations becomes the icing on the cake and my favorite part of the process. I find all forms of art fascinating and beautiful.

Since I was a little girl, I admired my aunt, a starving artist. She gave me a passion for art that has always been a part of who I am, however, I never pursued art as a career because I saw her struggles and I thought my art could never support my family.

The pandemic has given me a new perspective on life which has led me to spend the past few years teaching myself watercolor painting. I have spent hours watching tutorials and demonstrations of other watercolor artists. Some of my favorite subjects to paint include flowers, mushrooms, animals, landscape and abstract. I love to use bright bold colors and most often finish my pieces with line work using ink or colored pencils.

My ultimate dream is to be an artist full time, thus, the launch of this website and my new small business Brown-Eyed Fox Studio.
